Pelham Girls Scouts strongly encourages every Pelham Girl Scout troop to particpate in our three annual council-sponsored fundraisers to give our girls the opportunity to experience the Girl Scout Leadership Experience which entails earning and managing money. This experience puts girls in charge, giving them the opportunity (with troop leader oversight) to cooperatively set goals, manage a budget, spend responsibly, maintain records; earn social skills; and develop good marketing, entrepreneurial, math, and financial skills. Selling Girl Scout Cookies and other products give girls a chance to run a business and practice leadership skills they can use in their lives. It encourages them to set goals and improve their communities.
Please note: Troops planning extra money earning activities MUST participate in Fall Product Sale, Annual Giving, & Cookie sales for council to approve money-earning applications.
